A Spoken Word About Suicide

Hey guys, here’s a spoken word I wrote for my Bible Class. It’s about suicide, a topic I’ve been so so concerned about after reading 13 Reasons Why and All the Bright Places. I hope this really gets the point across. Whether you’re Christian or not, I just want to let you know that there is someone out there to take your burden, because none of us could do this alone. Seriously. Don’t feel like you have to. I’m here as well. Just DM me on twitter, or call 1-800-273-825. No one’s here to judge. Everyone loves you.

Why would you leave us?

You are so worth loving

From the ends of your hair to the ends of your fingers to the tips of your toes

You’re important, you’re special, you’ve left your mark

Don’t leave another by leaving

There’s already so much heartbreak in the world

Please don’t add any more

If there was nothing but downhills, nothing to bring us back up, we would already be in hell, with no way up, but here we are, still on earth

If there were no sunny days, we would have already drowned in rain.

But we aren’t in hell. We didn’t drown. There are always happy days, and yours are yet to come.

Be patient and wait for them to come.

I won’t pretend to understand what you go through

But I also won’t pretend to be okay with you leaving

You may think you don’t matter

That it won’t make a difference

But you have to realize that you are so so loved

If not by anyone then you are loved by God

He says he is with you to carry your burden

Why else would he die on the cross?

You don’t have to do this alone.

He’s here for you

We’re here for you

I’m here for you.
